Saturday

I really do suffer some bad memory problems since I can't remember what I did for most of Saturday. Never mind, it just came back to me. There was a funeral for one of my mom's old gang who she grew up in Glenora with. He was only 54 but cancer took him. His mother in law was one of Gramo's close friends and she also passed away from cancer two weeks prior to him. All in all it was a rough time for that family. It reminded me very strongly of my dad's funeral.
Happier times, I have just remembered what I did earlier Saturday morning. Kim came in to do laundry at Gramo's house at nine in the morning and woke me up to tell me that she would be going the the corner store for coffee to do some stuff. Since the washing machine is on the other side of the wall from where I was sleeping I got up right away. After feeding Lizzy and myself breakfeast I got us moving and we walked to the store. I had a good time waiting for Kim. Saturday morning gossip in the coffee room of the store made the hour that I waited go by fast. It turns out that Kim had a lot of stuff to do before she could make it out for coffee. I guess that explains why her truck was still at her house when I left. I thought that maybe she had also decided to walk. I had to leave not long after she got to the store but it was still a good morning.
The entire evening was spent at Doug and Cathy's house in Crofton. Cathy stole Lizzy from me as soon as I got there, which was actually all right by me. I got to sit out by a bon fire without worrying about Lizzy breathing in any smoke. She is a pretty strong draw though and I didn't spend neerly as much time at the fire as I normally would have. Cathy made a great dinner which included several of my favorite foods. After dinner Kim and Andrew went back out to the fire but the rest of us stayed inside. Andrew's friend Adam met them at the fire and they must have been having a good time. We heard the rain pounding on the roof but the three of them were just ignoring it and getting soaked. They finally had to come inside to dry out so they set up camp around the wood stove. They spent more then an hour goofing off and playing with matches. Ah, the bond of pyromania! Lizzy finished off the night by napping on Andrew.
