Sunshine Coast

After spending Christmas in Duncan and enjoying THREE tukey dinners there we went to Powell River where we were greeted with yet another turkey dinner. And would you believe it, no one made my favorite kind of stuffing. There was just about a riot at my sister's house on Christmas day when this shortcomming was noticed. We settled in for almost two weeks in Powell River and had a nice time there.

We decided to present Lizzy to Patrick's home church in Powell, it was a Baby Dedication service. This means that we commited ourselves to raising Lizzy with a knowledge of God, Jesus and the whole Christian package. I was not comefortable with a Christining or a Baptism, since those seem like we are telling Lizzy what she belives. This was a promise of what we would do and I felt good about making it.

We wrapped up out trip with a quick visit out to Chilliwack to see Nan and Jim. After four weeks away it was good to get home.

Christmas in my Home Town

For the first time since 2001 I was able to spend Christmas day with my family. We got to Duncan two weeks before Christmas and left on Boxing day. It was a great visit though the weather was positivley awful. We spent quite a bit of time with no power, which is akward with a baby. It was good to be surrounded by relatives. Here are some pictures.

The New Year

Well, it is a new year and we are finally home. Our four week vacation was fantastic, but there really is no place like home, -25 C, howling blizzards and all. I think I will make just two posts about the vacation right away, the Duncan part and the Powell River part. About my resolutions:

#1: Broken

#2: Broken

#3: I gave myself all year for it, so ok so far

#4: Cracked but not completley broken.

I'm not doing so well on the resolutions. Maybe I will have to let myself have a two week grace period to adjust to the new rules. Resolution #3 is actually the easiest to keep so far. It is to get below 160 pounds, I am doing better then I expected since I continued to lose weight over Christmas and am now below where I was when I got pregnant with Lizzy. Honestly nursing a baby is the best weight loss plan ever invented.

Elizabeth, our dainty little flower, is finding the weight I am loosing. She was weighed and measured today before getting her vaccinations. She is now 19lb 7oz and 27inches. She also learned to make raspberries and spit while we were away. It is as funny as anything, but I hope she grows out of it before she figures out how to hock a lougie!
