Monday Monday
I've now told you everything up to Monday, and what a Monday it was. I spent the morning worrying about Gramo. I had thought that she was supposed to get back from her bowling tournament on Sunday night but it was nearly 2:30 Monday afternoon before she arrived. Since I needed to borrow her car to be in Nanaimo for 3:30 this was almost a problem for me. We got things figured out fast though and we were on our way. Lizzy fell asleep for the first part of the trip but when she woke up alone in the backseat she was very upset. I had to pull off of the highway and stop the car so that I could sooth her. It didn't take her long to calm down once I was in the seat beside her and we were able to get under way again soon enough not to be late meeting my friend Brandie.
From where I met up with Brandie we went down what felt like eighteen flights of stairs to get to the caffeteria. I'm not sure what we talke about but in no time the hour I ha to spen there was up and we had to go back up all those stairs. Lugging Lizzy. I was glad I had left her car seat in the car.
Since having Lizzy I have been perpetually late. When I say I was on time for something it means I was within 15 minutes of when I said I would be there. Well I was on time for dinner at Terry and Cecile's, but only just. Terry was flat out late. Cecile and I had a good visit but eventually gave up on waiting for Terry and had dinner without him. I wasn't quite finished when he made it home. I think he enjoyed meeting Lizzyand he and Cecile decided to try out how they would be as grandparents. When the time comes I think they will be great.
I soon had to get back on the road to pick Gramo up from, you guessed it, bowling. I almost ran over a very daring racoon on the freeway. Fourtunatly when I dodged and he dodged it was away from eachother. He had been sitting in the middle of my lane. Probably munching on some good road kill. The brake light on Gramo's car came on partway home and Lizzy woke up grumpy again so once again I had to stop and calm her down. Fourtunatly when I turned the car back on after soothing her the light stayed off. I was only a bit late picking Gramo up from bowling. She enjoyed the chance to show Lizzy off to her friends.
We decided to finish off the night by giving Lizzy a bath. I put my swimsuit on and invited Gramo to enjoy the spectacle with me. Lizzy did not dissapoint. She kicked and splashed and swam like a champion. Swimming with Lizzy is so much fun its amazing I don't do it every day.
